Maddie had three samples of lumps sent away last week and unfortunately one of them has come back as a Mast Cell Tumour.
It was a lump I was quite unconcerned about as it was so small, I was more worried about the other two, it just goes to show that you should get every lump, however big or small checked out as soon as you can. Maddie is very fit and healthy in herself but she has to go to the Vets on Monday to have the tumour removed (and the other two) to see what grade it is, so we won't know what we are dealing with until the results are back.
Best case scenario is that it is a grade 1 and removing the tumour will get rid of the problem and it won't come back, don't want to think of any other scenarios!!!
What I would like advise on is how can I make it as easy as possible for Maddie, she gets very anxious going to the vets and won't want to be left. We are taking her blanket and a toy and hope this will help a bit
We will have chicken and rice or scrambled eggs for her to eat when she feels up to it and although she normally sleeps with us in the bedroom I thought it might be better if I slept downstairs with her the first night in case she needs to go out.
She cried pitifully for 24 hours after her last general anaesthetic and it upset us all that we couldn't help her more. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
