Absolutely gutted.

Lyla was due her op tomorrow. Now she isn't. She was sick this morning and wouldn't eat so I took her along with Kali who had an appointment with Laurie. Despite her being on strong antibiotics, she has a really bad infection in her glands still. Her temperature was sky high too. So in Lylas best interests it was cancelled as they do not operate whilst infection is present.

She had antibiotic injections to see if that works quicker. She will get another one on Friday and again the following Monday then her op on Wednesday.....all being well. Unfortunately Laurie is away so it will just be Scott doing it. I would have loved to have waited for Laurie but poor Lyla needs an end to all this.

If the infection still hasn't cleared by Monday, they will have to do a gland flush with an operation either straight after or the next day.

My head is spinning.......and poor Lyla must be fed up of being poorly :-\

 Poor poor Lyla & poor you. I'm sure it was the right decision to postpone but it drags the anxiety out. This infection has got a really strong hold and I hope the intravenous antibiotics help knock it on the head so Lyla feels more comfortable very soon. Fingers crossed for A positive improvement by Friday and that things can go ahead by Monday. Sending lots of good wishes and gentle cocker cuddles

Oh no!  What rotten luck,  hugs all round I think  :bigarmhug:   It's horrible getting all geared up for something and then for it not to happen.  She has been through it, the sweet, brave girl  :luv:  Here's to all being clear for next week's op.

That's just it. Not only knowing Lyla feels so bad but also that I had got psyched up re her op and recuperation and now I feel deflated.

What a Shame for Lyla and another week of trepidation for you - at least there is absolutely no doubt that the procedure is the right answer, just as soon as she's well enough

Think several large glasses if wine are in order over the next week x
