Worming
« on: April 14, 2006, 11:44:56 AM »
Hello, I'm about to worm puppy but just have never done this before so don't know what to expect.  I was hoping someone could (without being too graphic urgh) tell me how quick they work, this is the one thing I really didn't want to have to deal with but it has to be done.

Thanks

Hello   :D

Its not hard  ;)  If the pup has worms (and if the pup is tiny) then it will work pretty much immediately. The next few poops will have worm remnants if they have to come out.

Its not pretty but its definately a must I'm afraid!

Ok, thanks, i was just worried that'll I give him this pill and all hell would break loose and I'd be running after him with a tub in my hand haha.  That is over exaggerating I know.  It doesn't say on the box about giving the pill with food?  he has just had his dinner so I guess now is as good a time as any.

Thanks

On a second thought, as it doesn't say and forgive me for being simple, but can he chew it or do I need to force it down and rub his neck like you do cats?

thanks

No no - don't force it down - that could stop him wanting to take tablets forever.

Put it in a little piece of meat or cheese or paste - it will be swallowed up in no time.

Don't make any fuss about it and your pup won't know there is an issue.
