Anti-Inflammatories
« on: March 25, 2010, 05:35:09 PM »
When we last went to the Vets for the annual boosters, I spoke to the vet about Woofie, he used to get a little stiff very occassionally but the glucosamine and chondratin (sp) tablets we give him mean that he is fine now on our normal walks.

However we are going to Devon in three weeks and he always suffers a little bit more because he walks much further and gets quite stiff in the evenings, the vet said to call in before we go and get him some anti inflammatories to take.

Just wanted to know if there was an alternative or whether this was the best idea?

Thank you  :-*

I'd ask the vet what anti-inflammatories he plans to give. Rimadyl can give great results but it is also very tough on the liver, so unless he gets really bad I think I'd avoid that one. THere are other alternatives. You can also ask about aspirin  ;)
