Is piriteze ok instead of piriton for dogs

I am just stocking up the first aid kit before our trip to Devon in a couple of weeks.

Couldn't get hold of piriton so bought piriteze but I think it has a different ingredient in it - do I need to go and buy the 'real' stuff?

Don't normally frontline the dogs before the summer months but I am going to do it before we go away and have had a look at the first aid sticky on here which is a great help.  Think I have everything now.  Just hoping we don't find any ticks on Dartmoor this year

According to my BNF the ingredient in Piriteze (cetirizine) is non-sedating and the one in Piriton (chlorpheniramine)  causes sedation as it's an older antihistamine. For cetirizine you can give a child of  2-6 years 5mg daily or 2.5mg twice daily. I've used it on Millie before and it worked on her and she was fine with it. I gave her 5mg a day(half a tablet)
