Crikey just read this all through, glad the ending is a happy one!  Did the haemorrhage happen because of her running or would it have happened anyway?

Sounds like she's being looked after well, hugs to you all  :bigarmhug:

Just seen the thread, thank god she is going to be Okay. How upsetting that they seemed more interested in the cash >:D I guess we humans are lucky that our A/E dept's don't ask (yet) about insurance before they will treat you.

Have only just seen this Chris, what an awful worry for you, however I'm pleased to hear that it is something that Peggy will recover from without surgery.  ;)

Sadly these things can happen (one of my vet's dogs sneezed and it ruptered a disc in his neck)

Hope Peggy continues to get better and very soon

Gosh, that's quite scary - Fern has been known to cry out randomly when chasing a ball but it's only ever been a momentary muscle pain - scary to think of what can happen  :'(  Must remember to always take my mobile!

Hi Chris sorry to hear about Peggy, but pleased to hear she will soon be on the mend.

Just a thought, has Peggy been treated for lungworm?? This can cause random haemorrhaging in any part of the body. Advocate is the preventative and treatment for lungworm as well as covering fleas, biting lice, ear mites, mange mites, heartworm and all other worms but tapeworm.

Just an idea.

We had a collie in at work with exactly the same condition and diagnosis as Peggy and lungworm was confirmed via a faeces test.

Lungworm used to be rare in the UK but reported cases are massively on the increase. Vectors are slugs and snails.

There has recently been a campaign about it on tv and radio.

Good luck, Steph x
