wormers - drontal making him sick
« on: March 04, 2012, 10:22:08 AM »
Has anyone got any advice on wormers? I gave my 7 month old drontal last time and this made him sick  :020: I would like to know what others use that doesn't make them sick, as I spoke to another dog walker yesterday who said drontal makes hers sick too, so is this quite common with drontal?

I do order my wormer online from wherever is cheapest as shops are ripoffs!
I'm normally on my phone, please forgive any typing errors!

Both my girls are sick with Drontal and Panacur.  Myself and many others here use Milbemax.  I cannot recall anyone having problems with it

Drontal makes both of mine sick but they're fine with Milbemax.

Charlie threw up after taking Drontal. He has Milbemax now and it seems to suit him.

Dylan was very ill after Drontal - but the vet wouldn't accept that it was that that made him ill  >:D When he was due for his next wormer, I asked for an alternative and he's had Milbemax ever since without any problems.

Drontal gave Hazel diarrhoea - which I've never experienced before as M&J have always been fine on it .. so I'll be trying milbemax next time around :)

My lab would get sick with drontal too. I told my vet and she said to give half in morning with his food and half in evening with his food. It solved the problem, no more being sick.
