I know it's difficult but she will be absolutely fine and after it heals you won't even notice the difference :bigarmhug:

My tail tale is a bit different and hopefully will make you feel like you're not the worst owner in the world (which you aren't - her injury is just one of those things  :-* )

My brother was clearing some scrub from his land with a scythe and his 12 month old lunatic black labrador was tearing around like a mad thing.  At one stage he called her back and she tore back to him waving her tail as hard as she could....and sprayed him with blood.  She must have got in the way and he accidentally amputated a couple of inches of her tail  :fear2:  She had not made a sound and she wasn't at all bothered and after a trip to the vet, a couple of stitches and a fetching purple bandage she was fine (and you'd never know her tail is shorter  ;))

Will be thinking of you and Poppy :bigarmhug:

Sorry to hear this but I am sure once the tail is tidied up she will be absolutely fine.  ;)

Good luck with trying to stop her wagging what is left while it heals up though  :-\

Hi, our springer broke his tail by wagging it against a door frame ! He had the tip removed and then did it again! He can still wag his tail for England and it healed well. Good luck from us

Poor poppy  :'( how horrible for both of you.
I have to say I do worry terribly about Hazel's tail because she's forever smacking it against things  :-\

Big hugs and licks from us for a good op and a speedy recovery  xx

Poor Poppy :luv:
My dalmatian had to have her tail docked as she had damage to the spine, The vets tried to save the tail and only took part, but she was so mad wagging her tail so it hit both her sides, that inevitably she had to have the rest taken off too ph34r
we ended up using tree protectors on her tail, as it would take about 20 secs to get any bandage off!

her stump healed brilliantly in the end. and still wagged for England!
