Well, we're back and Duggie was a STAR!
He was very shy at first, hiding under the chair, but when we went up on the stage with the other newbies to do lead walking he was brilliant, walking perfectly round to heel and sitting every time we stopped.
The others had never had a lead on before as their owners didn't realise they could walk them round the garden, so none of them would walk very well.
We walked round for about 10-15 minutes and he (and I) got very bored and he went to sleep! I could have joined him. After that all the dogs had to go through a tunnel and then sit, some were scared, but he raced through and sat cos he knew there was a treat waiting. Then he had a little play with a Bichon Frise, then slept all the way home in the car.
I don't think he's going to get much out of it other than socialisation, as we have covered all his basic training, but I think he'll still enjoy going once he gets to know the other pups.
But, as for OH - I'm not taking him back, he failed!
He moaned constantly about it being boring, said he wasn't going up with Duggie to do anything in front of people, then droaned on about it being on for too long and too late at night. As soon as it was finished he bolted out the door and was in the car while I was still in the hall.
