Apologies in advance for the subject but....
« on: June 18, 2010, 11:41:09 AM »
When Odie has a poo he has never just squatted and done it, he always 'walks' around squatting, leaving lots of parcels  ph34r all over the bit of grass he does his toilet on.  Why does he do this?  Why can't he just squat and deliver so to speak :005:  I've not seen any other dog do it!  Lesley  :D

Bobby does this all the time! Sometimes he will turn round and have a sniff too (sorry) whilst still going!

I thought Odie was the only one :005:  Hope he grows out of it because it's embarrassing in public :embarassed: :P

Yep, another one here  ::)  Coco always wanders around when she is having a poo - she thinks standing still is a waste of time  :005:  I feel a right nelly following her around with a poo bag  ph34r :lol2:

Caoimhe almost always tries to walk away before she's finished going ::)  She's worse when she's peeing though, she'll squat and then spin around so she can sniff what she's doing :005:

My Lulu does it... I think it beacuse they can't spare the time to actually stay still, even if only for a second  :005:

Trust me it is NOT just a cocker thing!  Neither of my cockers do it.....but my Great Dane! Oh yes he does this most of the time too!  So embarrassing walking around after him with a poo bag picking up his "parcels"!

We were at a training day last week with Harry & he was doing just the same, the lady next to me said "typical spaniel, can't stay in one place"  :005:  and yep another one that is sniffing the last parcel whilst still squatting  ::)
My Lulu does it... I think it beacuse they can't spare the time to actually stay still, even if only for a second  :005:
I agree, for Harry everything in life is exciting & peeing & pooing just take up too much time & are an inconvenience, so we get pee splashed up his legs too as he wants to get onto the next thing before he's finished  ::)

Thankfully Max is the opposite - everything at his leisurely pace  :005:

Poppy used to do this and she was 13 when she died. Before she had a poo she would carefully select the right place to go by circling several times and if it wasn't the right area would move somewhere else and perform the same ritual  :005: Sometimes on a walk she would do 2 or 3 "parcels" which I would pick up and tie up the bag only to find she had moved a little further on and done the smallest amount, so the had to decide whether to open up bag or use another  :shades:
