Lola says "Hi" to the Puppy Board!
« on: December 06, 2011, 07:50:54 PM »
I am happy to say that Lola has come home today and up to now is settling well  :luv:

Lottie was the best I have ever seen her when meeting a pup   and apart from going over and sniffing her now and again has
acted as if she has always been here.

I am just watching as this could all change when she realises Lola is here to stay  >:(
I will post some photos as soon as I get chance  :D

Sounds like it has all gone well,,this has reassured me as i am getting nervous about bringing my new wee girl home on Monday to meet Erin our 6yr old.
Hope it continues to go well and if you have any tips that would help me in the introductions i would be most grateful

Thanks all, fast asleep in her crate now!
Read lots about how to introduce etc.. and ended up really apprehensive but all seems well so far  :D
Tips that worked- One of us took Lottie for a walk whilst Lola was brought home then let them meet in the garden both on a leash, DD took a video and will try upload, lots of waggy tails!
-Removed all toys so no possessiveness and gradually reintroducing a few new toys

Good luck xxxx

Congratulations on your new arrival and good luck with the settling in, although it sounds like it has gone really well so far, so hopefully it will continue to work out well and they will become best friends in no time.

Hi
I don't remember any specific thread on COL although I did take note of a few things.
These are a few that I looked at via Google.

www.dogtime.com/bringing-home-a-second-dog-aspca.html
www.humanesociety.org/animals/dogs/tips/introducing_new_dog.html
www.the-puppy-dog-place.com/introducing-a-new-puppy.html

Everything seems fine at the moment, Lottie ignores Lola most of the time but goes and has a good sniff of her from time to time
I am just sorting some pictures on Photobucket and the video DD took of their meeting and will post them on the Puppy photo page, so keep an eye out!  :luv:
