am not going to panic and sure its nothing but
« on: January 01, 2010, 01:48:09 PM »
Jacks weeing blood  :'(

got a vets appointment for tomorrow and keep telling myself it will just be a urine infection  :-\

He seems fine in himself, not weeing more or really drinking more as you would expect with cysitis, infection etc and was running around like a little loon this morning  :luv:

Then he cocked to wee and I thought I was seeing things as it was red, everything he has passed this morning has been  :'(

Does he mount any of the others when playing? I remember a friends dog had a similar thing and seemed to have been caused by rough play involving a bit of sauciness. It is horrid tho when you see blood anywhere-it doesnt take much either to make urine quite red.Try to get a pee specimen tomorrow morning to take with you. Try not to worry-go and have a stiff drink! Good luck. Jennifer

If he seems okay in himself then I'm sure it'll be something that can easily be sorted at the vets tomorrow Jo.

Sending you hugs anyway, cos I know you'll still worry.  :-*

No advice to offer you Jo, but just wanted to say that I hope Jack is ok, and it's just a wee infection or something like that. I know you'll be worried though, I would be the same....let us know how you get on at the vets. Lots of healing thoughts from me and Chloe  :luv:

Has he eaten any beetroot? That can cause the urine to turn red.

Hope Jacks pee is back to normal soon.  I know sometimes its difficult to know whether to be worried or not especially if they're fine in themselves.  Hopefully tomorrow things will be better. :luv:

Hope all goes well tomorrow.... fingers, toes, eyes and everything else crossed that it is something and nothing, and that it can be cleared up quickly for Jack.  Sending cyber hugs to both of you. x

thanks everyone, my mind has been absolutley whirrling all day and poor Jacks been constantly cuddled and I havnt left him alone  :embarassed:

He sprained his leg about 6weeks ago, I had him checked out by the vet because he couldnt sit and was holding it funny and they diagnosed a sprain.

We rested him and he seemed to go back to normal and we put his excercise back up. A few times I have thought he was walking a little funny and but it was one of them things where it happened very occasionally and seemed to sort itself out quickly. Hes also very occasionally not fully sat when asked and slowed down at the end of a walk.

He went out working all day last Sat and when he got in he was absolutley shattered and didnt want to go out later on with the other dogs, which is very un-like him. I just thought his leg might be bothering him and a bit stiff so we had decided to give him shorter walks and not take him out working this weekend.

Now im panicing that its not his leg and we have missed something wrong with him  :-\ the sensible side of me is saying its just a big coincidence and he has an infection but the other side of me is really worried somethings wrong with him and I missed it  :'( I would never forgive myself
