Just logged back on the site after a long time away because of my utter disgust at our Healthy Pets renewal that dropped on the mat this week. It didn't take long to see I am not the only one
Basically I have been paying £18 per month for our 7 year old cocker and the renewal letter states it will now be going up to £55 per month (about £650 for the year!!!!) on top of this is also the new 25% 'co-insurance' fee on top of the £75 excess.
Our cocker is high maintenance and we have had a claim for just over £1000 this year for which I am not sure whether this has affected the renewal? I have got to say the service from them has always been good with the staff being helpful claims settled quickly but cannot justify giving them my business anymore at this price.
I have just moved it to Sainsbury's for £26 per month and had to add pneumonia to the list of exemptions on the cover (Epilepsy and growth removal which Healthy Pets never covered due to a previous insurance mistake).
Healthy Pets blamed vet charges for the increases which were forced by their underwriters and I kind of partly believe them as our vet isn't cheap and always checks a client is insured before they recommend any treatment.
