Well we decided to go and take part in Snoopy's 2nd show this weekend which was a Companion Dog Show organised to raise funds for the local Hospice on the Island, it was very well organised and spilt into 2 sections one for Pedigrees and one for Novety Classes, but held under KC rules, etc. Snoopy was only eligible for 2 classes AV Puppy and AV Gundog, in the first class he decided it was time to play and introduce himself to the other pups, however once we overcame that he presented well and was placed 6th. Thinking we had no chance in the gundog class as many of the more senior competitors on the Island with adult dogs were in the class, even dogs which qualified for crufts
how surprised was I, Rachel and Alison my friend when Snoopy decided to behave perfectly and even managed to stand for what seemed like ever and after moving like I have never seen him in the ring, when the judge pulled us in 2nd place, in front of the cruft qualified dogs and the other senior competitors, needless to say I have a big smile on my face for my little boy
I am really pleased he did so well and has finally managed to get the idea of what showing is about, lets hope for the big show on the Island in a few weeks he behaves as he did today.
