Rehoming

(1/1)

Jan29:
Hi. We had a cocker spaniel for 16 years until 2020. Have been looking for another one recently but don’t think we want to go through the puppy stage again! No success so far with rescues but have seen a couple advertised who are being retired from breeders , ones had had 2 litters and is 3 the other has had 4 litters and is 7. Haven’t been to see them yet and am obviously cautious- any thoughts or advice welcome?

Have you looked at the dedicated spaniel rescue https://www.caessr.org.uk  and https://spanielaid.co.uk and of course http://www.thecockerspanielclub.co.uk/rescue.htm this is has area representatives who may be able to help.

I would also suggest you look at https://almosthome.dog it is just about 15 miles from Chester there is a golden called Emmet that makes me melt what a face and a black called Grace they are a small charity and are much loved around about.

Not sure what area you are in, I am in North West and have seen several dogs from breeders who have had litters and they have rehomed them...like everything I would assume it depends on the breeder etc but some of these dogs are not house trained etc and will need some tlc to adapt to inside living.

If you look down this site there is a link re rescue http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?
board=46.0

Yes indeed he does, - at least he looks like Humphrey did, sadly his coat‘s gone really woolly and curly now ( but we still love him,  :lol:)

Many Tears have a 2 year old golden boy called Lemmy.  He was rehomed from them as a pup, but not getting on with the resident dog.  He needs to be an only dog, he is a lovely looking boy and I think he would be a cracker.
