Title: Cocker Excess Salivating Problem RESULT UPDATE
Post by: alison davies on March 03, 2004, 09:45:20 PM
Thank you so very much to all of the kind people who responsed to our plight.

Cara is now fit and well again with no explanation what so ever.  Vet is quite staggered as we are, I really think we all thought the worst and he thought it was going to be linked to neurological problems (we know we aren't quite out of the woods yet), but the improvement is 100%.

The drugs and anti-biotics must have done something for her and we are once again a happy family of 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 cockers!

And thank you once again Doggy friends for all the help, support and suggestions you have made.

Sorry to hear about your bitch Alison - it must be very worrying for you :( The only time I have come across these symptoms in a Cocker was in one of my grooming "clients" who sadly had a malignant tumour in his mouth. However I'm sure your vet would have thoroughly checked your girl's mouth & gums so I doubt this would be the cause in her case. Hope you get to the bottom of it all soon & that the x-rays throw some light on the problem.

If your vet is stumped has he asked for a second opinion. My vets are good in the fact that if all else fails they try to get help elsewhere (in my case it has been at a vet school).

These things are always worrying as we don't know what's going on.

Hi Alison

Sorry to hear this, I hope you can find what is causing it, and that its not too serious.
