Update on Tia
« on: March 01, 2004, 07:48:13 PM »
Firstly, thanks again for all your good wishes, things have improved greatly. :D
The horrible swelling is going down. It was so very swollen above her eye socket that her eyes were out of alignment by about 1/2 inch, and they are now level. :D
Giving her pills has been fun - Tia can eat a treat and push pills out from the side of her mouth at the same time! Eventually she gives in, and with the second treat (writes Ms. Gullible) they go down.
She can paint and plaster strip with her plastic hood, and uses it as a shovel in the park to gather as much as possible in it and then complains when I try to clean it. :?
Walks take twice as long as everyone (with a dog) wants to know what happened to her.
We're back for the stitches to come out on Friday. :D
Cheers,

So glad to hear that Tia is doing so well.

I find that putting tablets in a bit of butter means they go down without touching the sides  :D

Hi Helen,
I've recently discovered that putting tabs in tangerine segments are perfect too - down in one!

Tia is a tangerine lover!   One of my parent's cockers was obsessed with tangerines - you just had to peel it and he was there.

Mine don't like tangerines. Can wave them under the nose - no interest at all.

Dogs are so funny with their likes and dislikes.

Hi,
And finally.....
Tia has healed very well. The stitches came out on Friday and she lost the horrid plastic collar.
I really feel it was the right decision. It may be my imagination, but she's really jolly. It may just be getting rid of the collar, but I feel that the problem eye might have been more of a bother to her than she showed. She's sleeping better, and runs everywhere.
Good on you Tia

Hi Mary
So glad that Tia has had her stitches out and collar removed and is now back to being a happy cocker.  She is lucky to have a caring owner like you - please give her a hug from me.
