Title: Clever girl Molly
Post by: Mollycuddles on November 14, 2006, 12:57:30 PM
Molly was entered in her first obedience match on Sunday I didn't think we were ready (oh ye of little faith) for it but was asked to enter to support our club  :-\ ....

I was so nervous her recall is good but her heel work was a bit hit and miss and we had to do it off lead  :o which I didn't know about till the Wednesday evening before when we had a practise run at our training class also you're not allowed to use titbits  :o ....

I was so nervous on the day but plucked the courage from somewhere she was entered in the pre-beginners as neither of us had done this before I had never been to a match to watch either so it was all new ... there was only six in our class but we came second and there was only 1/4 of a mark between us and the first  ... she was amazing and if it wasn't for her dippy mum would probably got the first as it was me that made the errors ;) ...

.... so proud of our Molly :luv: :luv:

Thanks....
Not sure!  Molly certainly was keen and wanting to do her stuff and was really focused.... but I was so nervous, it's early days and she's now in the higher training class where they do all the competition stuff so will see how it goes ... we hope to start agility properly in the new
year and would love to try some field work with her too ... it's just finding the right thing that we both enjoy....

If she is keen then you are 90% of the way there!  Apparently the more you compete the less nervous you become  ;)

There are not many cockers in obedience, but there have been two or three that have had some success in the lower classes this season.  And...it's awesome to see them beat the border collies...lol.

Hope you enjoy the competition obedience class, and also your agility training.

Well done to you both - hope you will continue to enjoy obedience.

I compete in breed classes and have just started to compete in obedience - we managed to go to 2 shows before the season in Scotland ended and thoroughly enjoyed it albeit a bit nervewracking

Great to hear of more cockers competing in obedience!
