Andis Deshedding Tool
« on: April 05, 2021, 07:19:59 AM »
Hi everyone,  I just wondered if anyone has used this tool?
It states it removes undercoat....I'm wondering if it just removes dead undercoat? 🤔
Thanks!

I don’t know much about grooming  :shades as I have a WCS and with my last one I just used the comb with a rubber band wrapped round or hand stripped the puppy fur out when I saw it needing done

Hope someone with groomer experience comes along shortly

Hi, - I have the Mars Coat King which is similar. I use it more now as since Humphrey was castrated as he has a lot more undercoat and it does get a lot out. There are drawbacks however, these tools can also cut and subsequently spoil the top coat, I was advised (before he was castrated) by a groomer to only use it occasionally and never along the back and also never for puppy coat. It does rather depend on the dog, the coat and what you want, i.e. looks or practicallity., I found the  comb and elastic band very effective and only resorted to the coat king at a later stage when I became less bothered about a perfect coat and more focused on a practical solution for grooming him myself.
