So,  after reading these has the cocker got smaller over the years or larger? Wonder what the standard was 50 years or more ago. I thought smaller but I'm a novice at this plus never met a worker to see the difference.
heres what one looked like in the twenties so thats a very long time ago.. my grandpa and cocker spaniel..
bad pic because its so old,,

 and their springers were not big either..with my granny in the fifties

at 18.5kg there are even bigger workers out there than her.

barkley weighed 17 kg back in january and i haven't had the chance to weigh him since but he's definitely filled out more since then so i wouldn't be surprised if he is heavier than tilly. i think he's also got a very similar shape to her.

we've met a few working-type springers who are almost exactly the same size, but generally a bit slimer, but we've also met some show-type cockers that are about the same size too.

terri carpenters gorgeous girls made barkley look HUGE when we saw them at the south-east meet in march. :)

Domino is a show-type cocker & weighs 15kg.

I don't we should measure these wonderful dogs by size, I think it should be brain power, there IQ is far higher than ours on some occasions  ;)
