My pup is 8weks (got him yesterday). I know I'll be terrified when the day comes (after his 2nd Vac) to let him off. But that's what I shall do. I plan to take him down the river near us, which is a long way from any roads or cars.

So, I'd say, see if you can find somewhere with no roads and go for it as asap. The sooner you do it, I think the better it works.
