I should think of getting a spaniel bowl, When Barnaby eats cottage cheese, his ears get covered in it and then they go all crispy! :?  :(

I use stainless steel spaniels bowls from all of mine, purely to save their ears :)  But Sasha has hers in a stand as she is very dainty and elegant and eating from the floor is just soooo beneath her      Jessica also has hers raised as she gets snort attacks, due to the op scares on her palete, when her head is to low down for a period of time  :)

Sadly i must also admitt that they have separate breakfast and dinner bowls   i didn't start it though, blame mother
