Cocker spaniel top tip
« on: September 16, 2014, 03:25:05 PM »
Hi all,

I'm helping my friend who has a pet store online. He's got some breed specific pages with top products etc. He'd like to have a sentence or two of a 'top tip' or "owners' insight" on this and has asked me for one for Cockers.

I wondered what your top tip/piece of advice/little insight into owning a Cocker Spaniel might be?

Mine might be more appropriate for a wine store!

On a more serious, helpful note, why not link the cocker advice to some grooming products?

Definitely buy specific Cocker feeding and drinking bowls to keep ears clean and dry  :shades:

Cockers need to have a job to do. It doesn't matter if it is sitting with you while you do the job as long as they are 'working' alongside you. You can work and snore at the same time you know! :rofl1:

For the new cocker owner you could give details of crates and indoor runs, child/dog gates, spratts combs, tic removers and a link to COL  ;)......Oh, you could possibly include links to local off licences that offer a delivery service as well  :005:

You can't train a cocker spaniel, he trains you to train him in the way that works for him!

:005: Definitely there is a need for a sense of humour to be a successful cocker owner...and quite a lot of wine...my daughter keeps saying "who'd want a boring dog that did what it was told?"...

I think a link to COL is a great idea, I wish I had found it when I still had my Belle. So glad I found it in the end.

They love to be stimulated and doing different activities... dogs toys and puzzles are good for just that :003:

My top tip would be "avoid looking in to the spaniel eyes-they will get their own way every time if you do"  :005:
