vid of retrieve in snow (warning this vid shows a dead bird)
« on: January 21, 2018, 04:10:52 PM »
Great day driven shooting in Cumbria sat 20th Eze was at peg and had opportunity of four retrieves to my gun.

She didn't spit it out she was just getting a better hold of it 😁

Beautiful!  Its the spitting out (or in our case dropping, albeit with balls, blocks, frisbees, whatever)  which is still the greatest hurdle for Humphrey, ! -he comes back and sits, all very impressive , but will only drop it if and when it suits him! ......... >:D
Well done Eze!

Thank you both 😁

She seems to tire on retrieves once she has done a few, its quite noticeable on the vid. She seems to run out of steam and has to get another good hold on it. My fault because I have only ever used half pound dummies. I think I need some one pound jobs to strengthen her up for next season.

PS
Was a truly beautiful day to be out but unfortunately I didn't have that much shooting. 6 for (I think) 18

Just lovely!

A retrieve is a retrieve and it was to hand - way to go Eze  :luv: Coral is still not keen on picking up pheasants but will happily pick up partridge, duck and pigeons  :dunno:

I think it’s a combination of size and amount of feathers - she seems to try to pick up them pluck a bit then give up - she’s mostly a beating dog so I’m not overly concerned but it would be nice for her to get the odd retrieve......
