computer query

At the moment we have one computer downstairs which has a cable connection to the internet. We were thinking of buying the kids laptops for xmas/birthdays. What would be the best way to link them all to the internet? Is wired or wireless the easier or are they both easy to do as both oh and I are novices when it comes to technology!Any help gratefully received.

lap tops usually have wireless network cards. You would just need a wireless router.

Alternatively, you could use a device that you plug into the electric sockets and turns your home power system into a network cable

Wireless has to be secured through encryption to protect your systems from intruders - especially if you shop or bank over the internet
