It says in the Breed Standards which breeds are meant to have webbed feet & these include Newfoundlands, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Otterhounds, Spanish Water Dogs etc but the Cocker Standard doesn't require webbed feet - Cocker feet are meant to be tightly-knit, round & cat-like with nice, thick padding underneath (for endurance & protection) but sometimes you do get flatter feet with more splayed out toes which can look like webbed feet (and sometimes very tight trimming can give this appearance too)

hi jane s
so  would having webbed feet count against them in a show (they are webbed it was our vet which pointed it out saying he does"nt see it as often anymore)
                                     thanks tracee xxxx
p.s.         is it a bad thing then

pps             they are tightly -nit with nice thick padding under neath they are not flatter or have splayed out toes

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing then :D All dogs have skin between their toes which is technically webbing but with proper webbed feet, this skin is quite thick & the toes are more spaced out. Hard to explain in words so here's a scan of two drawings, the one on the left is a Cocker-type "compact" foot & the one on the right is a webbed foot.

Indie must be a mutant then because his feet are exactly like the drawing on the right.
