Who's competing where this year..... Our season starts in February at the Hare n Hounds and I can't wait to get back into the ring. We are hoping to get to Scotland and Midlands this year too, but mostly the North East of England this year. Hopefully see some fellow Cols through the year. :D ;)
-
Reah will start in April - mostly southern shows but some Midlands. Am already starting to get nervously excited!
-
Hopefully both Misha and Roly - though we may stick to ones close to home. Had a reasonable time last year with plenty of clear rounds, just need to get a better handler :lol2:

got a few winter series independants...but i cant wait for the outdoor season. didnt realise how much i would miss it!
midlands shows for us

Our training club is licencing a new agility show in Scotland which will take placce at the beginning of April. Will keep you updated of the details.

Excited seems to be the word :005: I had a dinner party tonight with a few of our agility Friends and we were like a bunch of kids rambling on about the season ahead lol ...... can't wait here too I'm afraid... nothing like the Buzz Waiting in that line before you run ph34r and the feeling you get on the Judge giving you and your doggy partner the little "Clear" Applause and apprehension to see if your clear has made it into the rosettes or even a trophy lol..... :D

This year might see Jade and my son put their first toe into the water so to speak. She has still yet to have her second measuring and i have to start looking around to find schedules for shows around the midlands. But hopefully they will get the courage to have a go at their first ever show. So during the summer if you see a black & white blur running out of the ring followed by a teenage boy come and say hello.
-
I'm planning to take it up again this year with Edna, where we are there are only about 1 or 2 shows within 1 1/2 hours of us and it looks like it's going to be hard to get a dog measured :-\.
-
Our season will kick off in earnest after Crufts - training and a UKA on weekends before!! Then we are off travelling th country - will be up as far as Nottingham again (OH judging) - probably head over Axstane way and aynwhere in between - we will be doing a fair few miles this summer -dieselprices permitting.
Although with no Caerphilly show I think that there is only 1 KC show within an hours journey to us anyway so we are kind of used to it -already thinking about dusting off the caravan and planning my weekends!

Know what you mean about the diesel prices - think that there will be less one dayers for us this year.
Is there no Caerphilly this year?

I'm looking forward to it too, only did one winter show so giving the girls a break before the summer series starts. I'll be mainly around the midlands, going up to bakewell for a couple of shows and I really liked Catton Hall venue last year which I think is Swadlingcote, also the Warwick Races show was nice and small....only one ring!
I'm hoping to get Merfyn into some independant shows later in the year if they do classes for under 18months! Hopefully there'll be some 15mth classes in August so Merfyn can enter! He's been doing really well at his puppy agility classes already! So confident with the tunnel and happy to go through the wings with the jump pole on the floor! And his waits have really come along! So proud of him.....So proud of all of them actually!
I LOVE AGILITY!!!!

We'll be around the Midlands too, starting in April at Lincoln, which will be Harry's 1st outdoor show (he's done a couple of independent Winter shows)we'll probably stick to mainly KC shows again this year

Hope to see you around. We're quite lucky in the Midlands with quite a few shows to chose from :D

We will be around the Midlands and the Northern shows.
Plan to do some Hare & Hounds, Dog Vegas, shows at Bakewell, lovely Lune oh so many to choose
But a lot will depend on Diesel cost may limit going to far so will be keeping within 2 hours of South Cheshire
You will know if we are at a show as you will hear noisey Amy :005:
-
I am thinking of doing some of the midlands EMDAC ones - depends on whether Taz does a runner once we get outside. Have done 1 indoor one and another in Feb. Kira will be old enough to compete at the end of March so i may give her a try as well - although as a lab she will be up against competition with collies.
-
Been and got a new caravan (after rolling mine and destroying along with my car on the M5 last year). So we are all geared up for some camping - but my sons GCSE final year so not staying away at too many until after end of June.
We willl however be starting the year off at Cornwall (other half towing it until I get a towing hitch on car and my confidence back :'( )
Quite excited about living in my little Wendy house again and all those early mournings !!!!!! lol.
See you all soon here there and everywhere.

I would love to do competition with Bob we have been doing classes it all year round we started last march.
we have some lights up in the field and he has a flashing collar, some days we have been indoors
Bob is very good most of the time.... its me that lets him down :005:
I would like to see what he is like with a good handler.. then i would know if it was me or not :P

its experience that makes a better handler ..... just keep trying and develop your own technique it does eventually come together, I was all over the place when I first started to compete 'it was embarrasing' :embarassed: ph34r but in time we both began to develop and the wins soon followed ........ ;)
We have started our Agility season last week and Bailey won into grade 5 ......... he won the 4 to 7 class and had 3 more wins on top of that and a clear 2nd also........ I am so proud of him ....... :D

It sounds so exciting.........i've just phoned up about an agility club and am going to start going with Tilly after half term. I've NEVER done anything like this so will be asking for lots of tips!!
-
I've been doing agility with Tilly for about 18 months now and she really loves it. We've only ever entered one competition and it was a complete disaster! It was only a little fun show at our agility school, but Tilly got really fed-up with all the waiting around (we were there from about 8am until nearly 4pm and did just 2 runs) so that when it was her time to run she got completely over-excited and ran about like a lunatic jumping over anything in her way and running round and round in circles whilst barking hysterically :005: I added to the entertainment by falling over in mid run and in my hurry to get up and act cool I forgot which way to go ph34r Deeply truly embarrassing! How do you experienced guys manage to get your dogs in the right frame of mind at the right time and how do they handle the long wait? I think we'll stick with the classes where Tilly can get about 8 or 10 runs in over the hour and doesn't have the hanging about thing to do. Good luck to you all in the competitions - I hope you don't fall over ph34r :005:

Believe me, we have all had those moments ;) just adds to the fun of it all. Everyone understands - there's nothing like your dog to take you down a peg or two :lol2:, you just have to not take it too seriously. We only started competing last year and then only at unaffiliated competitions where things are a little more relaxed. I've found that each time after we've had a break from training that the dogs seem to come back a little more confident and focussed in what they're doing. Last year Misha did some good work consistently getting clear rounds and this year I'm hoping that my handling will be a bit better so that we can improve on our times. For Roly I hope that he will be a bit more focussed - he likes to go and say hello to everyone in the beginning (well it's only polite :lol2:) - he loves an audience and it makes everyone smile as they can see that he's just having fun, and that's what it should be.

is anyone going to the Monmouth show on 2nd Apr? is just for mini's and mediums. some foolish people who are averse to winning (they must be!) have asked me to be in a team event :lol2: a good one for the spectators i reckon!!!!
-
We will be there - love the Wye Valley small medium show
Should be lots of fun! Will have Spice, Ellie and Dylan running - have Dylan and Spice in the brace - will be interesting to see if Dyls will decide to run with me or go back to dad!!!

Really enjoy this show it starts the out door season off for us plus Amy meets up with her Sisters and of course brother Dylan.
