I just wanted to share my pride in Rufus the Reprobate. Yes, the only dog which did 20 lessons on the lead, found the gap in the fence, jumped off the dog walk after a pigeon and stopped at the top of the A frame to try to jump over a fence, did me proud yesterday. Everything is relative, and it was only level one at a fun show, but Rufus was competing against standard dogs, including collies whose owners do competitions, who were allowed to do the midi height, and he got two thirds and a fifth, all clear rounds. Last time he reduced me to tears in helter skelter and pairs, but even though he was tempted by the pheasant he had seen over the bank, I kept him on track. Truth to tell, he would actually have done the level 2 course better than most yesterday, but I resisted, in case he was in one of his freestyle agility moods. Phew, I was dreading it, but it was a fun day!
