Sorry, I think I might not have worded it quite right. We haven't got the gist of the ball box either, they have someone at the end who puts the ball on a training thing - like a box, but balls get stuck onto it with velcro.
Last night was getting them used to having other dogs moving at the same time, with one dog starting from the 'proper' end, and the other being held by the instructor at the box end. The dog at the box would be released as the other had just retrieved its ball so they both came back together ifswim? We would then swap lanes.
There is someone who notes individual times, but its just done out of interest. Milly's fastest last night was 7:11, so as you see, we have a long way to go!
It's good fun though, and I found myself getting a little competitive last night
