Agility in Central Scotland - Falkirk - can anyone help?
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:48:49 PM »
Hi
I did a 6 night mini course with wee Marlee when he was just a year old.  It was the most focussed he has been and really listened to me and it was great fun.  I was looking for clubs locally but have been unsuccessful.  :'( He will be 2 in May and I feel he would benefit from the challenge.  It would be great to channel that energy in him and just something that we could try together.

Can anyone help me with contact details of clubs nearby that would want a Newbie?!  We are eager to learn and just want a chance to give it a go.  If it turns out that its not for us then fine but I would like to try.

I live near Falkirk so would be ok going as far as Stirling, Linlithgow, Bathgate, Kincardine (trying to cover all directions!!) It would have to be in the evenings or at weekends over the winter time.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Lorraine

Broxburn Dog Training Club is good, they have really successful agility and flyball teams (they won the flyball at Crufts last year) but they run classes right from beginner level. I did the beginner's course with Alfie a few years ago. They usually have a waiting list for classes but it shouldn't be too long...

The agilitynet website also has a list of clubs all over the country so there may be a few more on there - http://www.agilitynet.com/

I'm starting Woodside DAC this Friday.  It's at the Grange in West Calder if that's any use to you.  I tried Broxburn but I had just missed their intro sessions at Oatridge and their next lot don't start until March.

I've never tried agility before but Wisp has done it (quite successfully) in his previous home so we're going to give it a bash.
