Sorry but i'm going to ask a silly question, why does someone else work her, is he her trainer and do you ever enter trials with her?
Also, when the trials are on can anyone go and watch or is it closed to the public. I only live two miles from Orsett and would love to
go and watch
Simon is her trialling trainer/handler, I don't run her in trials myself - I hope to do it in time, probably with other dogs in the future, but right now I couldn't do justice to as good a dog as Caoimhe. I can train her but actually trialling her is a different matter, most triallers are full-time professionals. Simon won the Cocker Championships with Caoimhe's father in 2007 (and her half-uncle in 2008) and she's very much of his 'type' of dogs, he understands her inside out and just gets the best out of her, as I think he does with all his dogs.
Spectators are welcome at a lot of trials, you would have to contact the secretary of the club/society in question beforehand to check. You have to do a lot of walking over rough ground and may not see much though, they cover a lot of ground and spectators obviously have to stay behind the line so as not to disturb the game or distract the dogs.
