Weeing in house
« on: October 23, 2014, 05:41:15 PM »
Riley is just over 2 1/2 now, been toilet trained very early, very quick etc.
In about the last 3 months he has had 5 accidents at home. Usually when he is excited ie just before he goes a walk etc.
Today he has done this twice.
Second time no excitement,  wasn't going a walk or anything similar.
This time annoyingly it was upstairs. Im trying to make a fuss. Hubby isn't so good at that and panics when he sees him doing it, which isn't helping one bit.
Worried it could be a urine infection? would this produce signs like this. Or is he marking indoors? Anyone have any advice or experience of this.

You've got a typo, it says you are trying to make a fuss, now I'm 100% sure you mean you aren't making one.

Could he just be being 'lazy' and not wanting to go outside if it's bad weather?

If it were an infection I'd have thought it would be more often, it might be worth just making note of it just in case.

Hopefully someone will come along with an answer for you soon

Thanks yes it's a typo lol, I know he sometimes doesn't like rain as at my parents he, please hold in in for hours but I feel this is different for some reason. He actually did a wee upstairs,  he has never did this :( despite sleeping up there for 10 hours on a night :(

Harry occasionally does this, always upstairs and often on a bed   >:( so now all doors are kept closed, we put it down to laziness as he really just can't be bothered sometimes to go for a wee, and you have to virtually kick him out into the garden or he would hold it for hours.  We couldn't find a medical reason, or stress trigger so now just prompt him to go out, which he will do reluctantly. Hope you find a solution, it's frustrating, but like you we have never made a fuss, and fortunately it's not too often.

Jane

I know you say you don't make a fuss but.......if he thinks its OK to do this it might become more difficult to stop.  He may think it is acceptable.

When Ollie is naughty I have a stern tone I use and say naughty boy - and he knows Mums not pleased.

Just a thought has he recently had his booster jabs.....Ollie always seems to be more frequent for a couple of days.

If it was a urine infection it would be more often and you'd notice when he was out he was weeing more

He could be marking or it could be laziness

Thanks all, he marks incessant when out, literally if its not moving he,ll wee on it, been like that for a while.
When I say I don't make a fuss, I do tell him off, like say NO and pick him up and put him outside and say OUTSIDE just like with a pup.
Its hubby who enhances with the panicky voice which doesn't help I guess.
No its been 6 months since he has had his booster.
Will keep an eye on this over the next little while.
For 2 years he had no accidents in the house then within a few months there is this!
Thanks all.

When Wilf had a urine infection he kept asking to go out all the time and still had accidents in the house
