Been to the vet today (why do they always get I'll at weekends or on public holidays? >:D ) He was pretty subdued yesterday but managed both short walks and all his food. He seemed a bit perkier in the afternoon so I thought he'd be ok today. He's really gloomy though. No walk today, very very hot during the night but only sipping water off my fingers. Poos a bit squitty yesterday evening and he hasn't been today. He weed in the house overnight and again in the vets :021: I've never seen him so listless, it's horrid. Vet doesn't think a blockage is likely and has given anti bs and something to lower his high temp plus some rehydration salts. I'm trying not to worry but I have to leave him for 3 hrs tonight as I have a gig to play at. He's asleep now. :016:

Wishing Archie a speedy recovery

Poor Archie, hope he feels better soon. Everyone (humans and animals) seems to get ill at xmas, think it's cos we all crowd together and exchange germs. Big pat for Archie x
-
Poor Archie. Let's hope it's just a passing bug and he'll be on the mend soon. :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:
-
Oh, poor lad. :'(
Hopefully it's "only" something he's eaten and nothing more serious. Hope the meds do their job very quickly and he gets a spring backing his step soon.xxx
-
Sending Archie lots of get well wishes, it's horrible when they get poorly and can't tell us what's wrong. Hope he feels better soon :bigarmhug:
-
I'm sorry to read that Archie isn't well :(
I know that there is a doggy noro virus going around, and some people think that the one humans get can be passed to our canine friends too.
I hope he starts to feel better soon, poorly little boy xxx
-
Oh no, Poor Archie :( Fingers crossed the antibiotics kick in and that he's feeling an awful lot better really soon. Try not worry too much, although I know its easier said than done ;) Hugs to you and special Archie.

poor Archie - hope you get well soon luv PuRli xx

Aw poor little mite, hope e starts to improve once the biotics kick in :luv:
-
Poor Archie :'(
I hope the antibiotics start working very soon and that it's just one of those horrid but ultimately harmless bugs that clears up as quickly as it came. Try not to worry too much about having to leave him for a while this evening as he'll probably just sleep while you're out :bigarmhug:

Thanks for all the good wishes. He's perked up since thismorning and had a little walk. Fast asleep again now. Interesting thing is that news from my brother is that both his dogs have had a temp since yesterday. My mums dog Jay (see my other post re his health!) has also been very under the weather today. Since they were all together at Christmas we are assuming they have all caught the same bug. I'm feeling better since I was worried about a blockage of some sort. It has also worried my Mum enough to make a vet appt. tomorrow for Jay. I will go with her and hopefully we can get to the bottom of all his issues too.

Glad Archie's feeling better

Glad Archie is feeling better! :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: (Hugs from Jinley).
It does seem strange that they can catch "bugs" like us - but it is probably more of a comfort that the other doglets are also feeling a little under the weather. Had they all been for a walk in the same place or just mixed in the home?

Good that Archie is feeling a little better. Hoping it is just a little tummy bug and he feels better soon.
Regarding Jay, I really hope and pray that it turns out to be something and nothing there too.
I totally understand why your Mum feels as she does, Jay is obviously very precious to her. :luv:

Glad to hear Archie's feeling a wee bit better :luv: :luv:

They walked together just once -my brother rarely takes his dogs out >:D >:D except to work them and no one but him has any control over them on or off lead! Jay and Archie walked together most days last week and all the dogs were together in the house. We think that the problem may be that the playing field we walked them in was badly flooded. Archie had a bit of a swim in it and even when the water level dropped it was still really boggy (Jinley would have been in her element, as was Archie :005: ) Goodness know what was in the water but I'm guessing it could be something from there. He's gone to my Mums this evening while I'm out working so she can keep him drinking and check for "output" ;)

Hope Archie feels beter soon... we had the very same problem before christmas & the antibiotics sorted it for our Millie... good luck with the gig & happy & healthy new year to us both... Chris & Millie.

I'm glad Archie is seeming brighter. I hope he continues to improve.
I'm also glad that you're managing to get to the vets with your mum and Jay ;)
