Title: Does your cocker....
Post by: mcc on February 14, 2013, 10:57:49 PM
Does your cocker always want to be where you are?  I don't just mean in the same room but actually in the same space that you are occupying? And to such an extent that you are in serious danger of tripping up all the time? :005: :005:

Mine used to but now she's getting on (she'll be 16 in July) she still likes to be in the same room as us but not in the same space necessarily.

Bracken is always under my feet no matter where I go, always twisting my leg nearly tripping over him! Velcro pup!  :005:

yes, in the daytime. Everywhere! By the time evening comes and hes tired he gets quite independent and will take himself off somewhere to sleep......The moment I look forward to every day!  :005: :005:

If I'm on my feet, yes - he's another original velcro pup - if I'm sitting down somewhere, sometimes!  He plonks himself on my lap if I'm on the sofa, but sometimes takes himself off for a sleep elsewhere in the room.

Yes.....I have three shadows.

Ironically, they love OH....and give him lots of love and attention. BUT....if I leave the room, I am like the Pied Piper of Hamlyn....closely followed by cockers.   :luv:

Yes, another Velcro here! I love it to be honest, it's what I signed up for and expected when we got her. It does however illustrate why cockers maybe aren't for everyone? They definately are "people" dogs and I know for sure that she's broken hearted if she's not right in the heart of family goings on.

I go everywhere in convoy with two cockers  :005:. Chaz is in front and keeps looking back to see if I'm still following him while Milly either follows me or is right alongside  :luv:.
Closed doors present something of a problem as, before I can get to the handle, I have to navigate two circling cockers, usually going in opposite directions  :shades: ;).
I do get some respite however whenever someone comes up our drive. Both of then dash to the window and do perfect Meerkat impressions. :005: :luv:

Yes Tootsie is definitely a Velcro  :005:  had a nasty trip up yesterday though so wasn't so funny then, and nearly hurt her too.

Yep definitely, if I am in the house and leave them in a room on their own even for a few minutes it sounds like world war three has broken out where they are trying to get to me  Thankfully, they are OK if we have to go out and leave them but that doesn't happen very often.

Yep, although Tiffany likes to be within 3 feet of the gravy bone jar  :005: :005: so it can be 30 seconds before she rushes to find me when i've gone out of the kitchen.  Oh, and she doesn't always follow me to the loo as the b.a.t.h is in there.  Sasha however follows me everywhere, unless she's pursuing her archeology hobby  ;)

I've not had Jasper long but he's already glued to my side. I love it, I'm a single parent and up until recently spent almost every evening on my own, now I have some lovely company and as many cuddles as I want :)

If Sue is in the kitchen and I am in the living room Teal will scratch at the door to be opened so she can lay half in half out the doorway so she can see us both
