First of all I just want to say THANK GOODNESS FOR COL! We came home after being out for about 1.5 hours to find that our Friday had gotten into my husband's work bag and eaten an entire packet of chewing gum... And because someone else posted on here recently about the dangers of chewing gum, we immediately called the out of hours vet and took her straight to them. We couldn't see any xylitol on the ingredients list of the chewing gum, but took her in to have the contents of her stomach vacated and were given some pills to give her for the next week or so that are supposed to help protect her liver.
So it cost £370 for the visit and medication, and she spewed diarrhea all over my husband's leg while he was holding her ears back while she vomited (bless him). :020: :020:

Oh dear, but what a relief you'd read about it so knew what to do in time.
:bigarmhug: hope Friday feels better soon

That was definitely an expensive packet of chewing gum but these babies of ours are worth every penny! Hope Friday is back to normal soon.

Hope Friday feels better soon :luv:
We had a 200g bar of dairy milk that cost about £175 once :shades: and Tiffany managed to 'decorate' the wall as i lifted her off the vets table

Oh dear, my molly ate a whole rum laced christmas cake last year along with half a dozen dark chocolates, that cost me well over five hundred pounds, when she came out of the vets 3 days later, she went straight to where she pinched it from to see if there was any left. Glad your pooch is OK though.

I think we got away lightly then. Paige & Molly (well, it was Paige ultimately, Molly wasn't big enough) stole a box of Thorntons chocolates just before Christmas. Thankfully there wasn't a lot left, just the ones I don't like, coffee & Turkish delight, but it cost us nearly £100. We wouldn't have been too worried but Molly was only about 15 weeks old so we panicked.
The vet gave them an injection to make them sick, Molly was straight away. It took Paige another 3 injections & 50 minutes before she'd part with the chocolates.
It hasn't stopped them, they would have had a tin of Roses if it hadn't been sealed with tape. It looked like it had been mauled by lions when I found it. I now have to scan the kitchen before I leave them to make sure nothing is within reach.
So glad Friday is ok x

Well after a few hours rest on Saturday and a bit of rice for dinner Friday was back to her usual antics and definitely went to check that there was nothing edible in her dad's backpack (where the gum was found). >:D Have been telling the OH for ages to watch where he leaves his stuff, so hopefully now he's gotten the point!
Thanks for all the well wishes, don't know what I would do without her!
