Molly is just over 7 months old & weighs exactly 10kg. She went to her first show at the weekend & somebody told me she was too skinny. I know she is quite slight but she's still young & has lots of energy.
Is 10kg not enough for a 7 month old?

I think they're all different. Ozzy is four years old and doesn't weight 10kg, he's always been on the small side, but he isn't skinny, he's got a definite waist. I wouldn't worry about their weight as such, but do you think she's skinny?

Thanks Sue. I don't think she's particularly skinny, just slight, but only being 7 months old I figured she has plenty of time to fill out.
There was another girl in our class at the recent show, she was only a little bit older than Molly & tbh I thought she was a bit too "hefty" for her age. However the judge seemed to like her!

Ralph is 7 months and was 10kg last time he was weighed ( a week or 2 ago)
He is quite skinny, but the vet said hes not too skinny. I think at this age they look skinnier as they can be quite leggy!

Teddy is 6.5 months old and weighs 10.5kilos...and the vet thinks he's quite chunky - so Molly sounds practically perfect in every way! :luv: :D

Willow is 5 months old, I had her weighed at 4.5 months and she was 6.6 kgs. I thought she was quite skinny, and like Ralph very leggy, but the vet is very happy with her and said whats more important is to follow a steady "line" on her weight chart - he said hers was perfect. They all mature at different rates, Poppy is 4.5 years old and weighs 11kgs - but I think she looks a bit weighty at the moment. I think how they look is more a better guide - you know your own dog best.

Is she show or worker?
My Jem is a year and 2 months and only weights just over 10kg. She is small but perfectly formed!

Thanks everybody.
She's a show Cocker RT, I don't think I shall take any notice of what was said to me. She's only young & will no doubt fill out as she gets older. I'll check with the vet next time we are there too, see what he thinks.
