Hi all, just wanting some information if possible. I took Jerry to the vets last week with really runny/gunky eyes. Like a dark browny coloured discharge. The vet examined him thoroughly, put some dye in his eyes to check for ulcers and/or scratches but all seemed ok so he said it would be conjunctivitis and put him on some drops. We have used them for the time frame he instructed us to, three times a day religiously but the day after we finished using them the discharge was back. Jerry is 5 next week and has no previous problems with his eyes.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

He may needed another course of treatment, I would advice that you go back to the.vet.

Hi, yes I will be taking him back next week. Just wondered if theres anything we could be missing -if I should be concerned really

It may be that the drops did not totally clear up the infection and he needs another course. In the meantime, you can always bathe his eyes with cold black tea ;)

Oh right! thanks will give that a go until I can get him back to the vets on Tuesday

Ah poor boy. Sounds like he does need more treatment.

Dennis suffers with mucky eyes - he was constantly having eye drops then i made the connection that his eyes flared up when i was using one of the air fresheners that puff out the smell ph34r Since I stopped using them he has been much better

Thanks, I dont use anything like that because they make me wheezy :P but did wonder whether he was allergic to something!
