Just to let you know that I had a call from the vet today to say that it was good news. :dance04:
The lump that Pepper had removed just over a week ago is an exothetic viral induced papilloma (virus in layman's terms). Apparently this is something that is generally found in younger dogs (although Pepper is only 4) but can also occur on older ones. It can appear on the face, legs or elsewhere on the body and in 99.9% of cases it doesn't go on to be anything serious.
Thank you for all your kind words and best wishes to all those waiting for results/answers for ongoing problems with your little loved ones.

Excellent news xx

I'm glad to hear that :)
Jem had a histiocytoma on her tum recently and the vet was pretty sure it was that (they are benign). I didn't think I was too worried but when the vet phoned to say it was good news, I put the phone down and burst into tears of relief!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. :D
I've finally taken Pepper's collar/cone off today and he has been running around like crazy in the snow - couldn't cope with the thought of him hoovering up the snow in the garden. Not sure how good that is for the recovery of his wound but it is doing a lot of good for him... :005:
Little does he know that the sock will be going back on later once we get home. I had to bring him in to work today as I wouldn't have been able to get home to him at lunchtime. Fortunately my 'commute' is only 1/2 hour walk/10 minute drive but with the snowy/icy roads, I didn't fancy the drive.
