Mollie has a topknot...

Question is, if I handstrip it out to the 'traditional' cocker domed head look but we then decide we want our Mollie complete with topknot back - will it grow back as it was before? Or once stripped out - does it stay that way?
Thank you.

It will come back. Hand stripping is better than clipping if you think you may want to grow it back again, but with either it will grow back, just more unevenly once you start clipping.
-
Thank you. I do handstrip her head a bit so it's not too long etc, but didn't want to do it completely if it didn't grow back.
-
If handstripped it will come back just the same as before. Clipping it can come back fluffy and curly. Thing about it is it always grows back one way or another. ;)

I don't like topknots generally but Mollie's is just :luv: :luv:. Can understand why you might want to have option of regrowing it.

I'm the same, love a "baby" topknot but come 12 mths it has to go.
-
I do love Mollie's topknot, she does look cute to us with it. Glad it will grow back if I have the 'courage' to handstrip it off - she is our Mollie with a topknot! :005:

We've used a Coat King for Henry's and it was nice and smooth for a while and we've been growing it back for a while and it's grown the same. Not sure if others would recommend it, but you could perhaps try a Coat King?

I too am not a fan of topknots ph34r sorry, as others have said if stripped it should grow back as normal if you decide you prefer a topknot.
Would love to see some pictures of Mollie should you decide to strip :luv:

When i got jamie he had the traditional cocker dome head look, but i let it grow out into a topknot. i recently stripped it out and i miss it so much :( he looks so naked without his lovely blonde fluffy bit.
It changes their look so much. i think Mollies is beautiful and i definitely wouldn't be in a hurry to strip it out!!

Yes, I know what you mean. I'm used to handstripping her, but it's whether I'd like her to look like that. I've always loved the 'traditional' dome smooth head, and that was what we always wanted, but Mollie hasn't had that, and don't know if she'd she'd still look like 'our Mollie' - if that makes sense??? ph34r.

I personally think of you stripped it out you'd regret it but if you do it does grow back :) so if you decide you don't like it, not too worry :)

I went through the same decision process this time last year!
