Just come back from a walk and the pooch is wondering around in the kitchen - which we're due to have a new floor put in this weekend. Hubby had to remove all the skirtings to do so but has left rusty nails poking out (I didn't realise this) >:D, one of which the dog walked into. She reacted and moved away suddenly and half closed her eye. I've had a look and there's a small visible scratch on the surface of the eye, but she doesn't seem to be in pain at all and she's not closing the lid anymore - i.e. if I hadn't seen her do it I wouldn't have realised.
Is this something that will heal? or do I need to see the vets?

urgh, this is a tight month. But better safe than sorry!
She's got a kong as I feel sorry for her now ph34r

Definitely the vets as a scratch can ulcerate without medication :luv: x x x

You do need to get it checked by vet may not be too bad ;)

Take her to the vets ASAP. I had a scratch on my own eye once and at first it was fine but as the hours went by it became impossibly painful and ended up feeling like my eye was burning (the hospital gave it a wash out and I had eye drops to help cool it and keep it clean until it healed) I found that without the drops the pain kept building up and up until it was unbearable again - so based on this I would take a trip to the vets as she wont be able to tell you if she is in pain.
