Hi. Blue was neutered last Wednesday. He has been leaving the wound alone for the last few days so have not needed the cone, but have been putting an upside down t shirt on him at night to cover it (although I'm not convinced he couldn't still reach it!) It is all looking fine, but this morning (after putting him to bed with nothing on him last night) it looks like the stitches at one end have gone. It still looks fine, it's dry with no redness. Should I be worried? Anyone experienced this?
Thanks.

I would think his sutures are dissolvable ones which have now dissolved, if his wound is as you described then I'm sure things are fine. Give you vet a call to double check. :luv:

Yes, probably dissolving stitches. I would check with your vet ;)

I've never known dissolvable sutures to dissolve that quick, I'm sure it's fine though we take some sutures out at 5 days. Best to check though

Just phoned and popped him up there. They are not dissolvable! Good news is it has healed nicely, so as long as he doesn't lick them it should be ok. Back to the old t shirt over his back end tonight then.
Thank for your replies.
Sharon.
