I'm so disappointed and angry!!! >:D Yesterday i took my lovely boy Alec (blue roan 7.5 moths) to the groomer (that was his first time). I explained exactly to the groomer how I wanted Alec to be groomed - no clipping !!! She also asked if i want to trim his top mop a bit and I said yes. When I back to collect Alec I literally got a shock!!! :o my beautiful boy's head was clipped bold. I'm nearly crying now...
Will his head hair grow back and will I be able to hand strip or at least to use scissors in a future to maintain it shape? He got very beautiful head... and I'm so upset...

What a shock it must have been, I love my girls long top knot, they do grow back and I'm told that if it's only been clipped once or twice you should be able to hand strip, I'm sure someone more experienced will be along soon.
It's a shame when groomers do not listen >:D, have you spoken to them about it ?

I don't blame you for being angry, I would be too if a groomer did something I hadn't asked for. It will grow back, and at his age it was probably mostly fluffy puppy coat, so his adult coat should start to come through soon. Eventually you should be able to hand strip it or use thinning scissors, but it will take a few months to grow out.
If you're intending to use the same groomer again it's probably best to give her some feedback now rather than when you book Alec in again. I think that many groomers just expect Cocker owners to have their dogs clipped all over, and that's what they're taught too. Not many do proper hand stripping.
Welcome to COL by the way :D and it would be lovely to see some photos of Alec and to hear some more about him.

Until recently I was a professional groomer. Groomers do make mistakes they are only human. It may not have been on purpose. It may have only been scissored down, however if scissored or clipped only once it should grow back just fine & there should not be a problem handstripping in future. :)

It must have been annoying to find this done, but it will grow back. :D It'll take time but should grow back well as he's only young.
Did you let the groomer know it wasn't what you wanted ?
If you take him there again, tell her to leave his head or just hand pull it to tidy it up. Make sure you explain exactly what you want and don't want. If you say very clearly not to use clippers on him she shouldn't. If you're not happy then try to find somebody that will do just as you ask.
There's a lot of good groomers out there but they're not all perfect and sometimes make mistakes. :D

Sorry for your experience but as a groomer some times owners do not always put what they want across well i am not saying you did not what I do now is have loads of pictures of the various clips or stripping I have done of cockers so that I can get a accurate interpretation of what the owner really wants.
It is surprising when they say really short please & I asked are you talking clipping or stripping they will often say really short & cut all the featherings off i will show them a clipped all off picture & they are horrified as that's not what they want :o
I would rather people fetch a picture of what they are looking for, we would do it for our own hair cut so our dogs should be just as special. I am lucky as I mostly groom cockers & have my own here for people to see what they will look like.
Its always worth checking that the groomer will hand strip as some only offer clipping
