I have just noticed a swelling in one of George's testicles, I took him to the Vets this morning, so he is now booked in to have it removed tomorrow and sent off to the lab. vet has told me not to worry, that any cancer should be contained to the one area. So please could I have some positive thoughts.
George seems fine in himself, spent yesterday with Hamish swimming in the river and playing fetch ;)i hope being neutered does not change his wonderful Temperament

He should be fine as am sure he'll be the same George. Fingers crossed it all goes well
-
Sending you lots of positive thoughts for today :bigarmhug:
Hopefully it's benign, but even if it isn't, testicular cancer is very treatable in dogs and unlikely to spread elsewhere. I've known several dogs who were castrated in middle or old age because of testicular cancer and all of them were clear of the cancer after the surgery and it never recurred. I'm sure he'll still be the same lovely George after the surgery too.

Sending you and your sweet boy

How is George today?
-
Well the Vet said George had been a model patient ;) he said that all his blood work came out ok, kidneys, liver function etc. when i went to pick him up, he was looking very sorry for himself, but managed to be wagging his tail, typical cocker :luv: he had his tongue hanging out of one side of his mouth, Russell, the Vet said that George was as high as a kite and very happy. He said that the op went well. This morning George seems absolutely fine, he is languishing on the settee, he has been on his back, showing me his war wound and wagging his tail, at the same time, chatting like clockers do :luv: does not appear to be in any discomfort I bought him a comfy collar, as I know that George did not move the last time he had one of those Elizabethan collars from the vets, so far it has not been needed, as he is not interested in his back end at all. I will keep any eye on him and use the collar if necessary. So lead walks for the next few days, he has to go back tomorrow for a pre op checkup.
The shock for me, was the price £350 :o still he is worth it and hopefully, we can get something back on insurance, according to Russell the vet.
George and I are very grateful for all your positive thoughts :-* :-*

I have just heard back from Lucy, my Vet, George had a Testicular Seminoma, as far as the lab is concerned, it was removed in time and no further treatment is required, to say. that i am relieved is an understatement :013: George in himself, seems to have a lot more energy and is now back to running around chasing the ball. :D
