Title: Why has Cosmo been sick?
Post by: Georgina on November 16, 2015, 07:12:47 PM

Cosmo has just woken up from his sleep and been sick. Sorry for the detail but it just looked like expanded kibble.
The only thing I can think is that he has reacted to the new brand of worming tablet he had this morning but he has had 2 meals since at 11.30 and 3.30pm. Would it have taken that long for a reaction?
He is due his last meal at 7.30pm but should I give it to him or give him something different?
He dosen't seem that fussed that hes been sick, infact he tried to eat it!  :020: :020:
I will be phoning the vets in the morning but I just thought I would ask on here tonight ;)

firstly, they will eat their dinner twice  and it does come up as twice as big. Could be the wormer. If he has squiggee tum good chance he will turn his nose up at dinner. a light bite for dinner I think (mine get scrambled egg) and see how he goes. most likely just a blip and nothing to worry about.

I agree with Min, it could be anything to be honest. What worming are you using? I know Dexter had a problem with Drontal as it give him the squits for a day or two but a bland diet soon sorted that out. Sorry to anyone eating about mentioning the s word.

I can remember Milo being sick after Drontal tabs, though it was a long time ago. I'm sure Cosmo will soon.pick up.

My two have been sick after Drontal too, so we don't use it now. They're fine with Milbemax though.

Don't worry about the eating up again. It's normal behaviour, especially when the food is only partly digested. It's more like regurgitation rather than vomiting digested food or bile. Saves on the cleaning up too :005:

Don't worry about him if he's well in himself and is drinking, peeing and pooping normally and still wants to eat. Just keep an eye on him because young puppies can become ill rapidly if they become dehydrated. But hopefully this was nothing more than regurgitating his tea and he'll be back to normal by the morning :D

Thanks everyone. I didnt let him eat the sick but im thinking maybe I should have now!  :005: He was behaving normally last night so I gave him his tea which he ate all of and everything is normal poo and wee wise. The tablet was cazitel plus, I haven't heard of it before but he has has drontal puppy in the past and been fine with it. Will be interesting to see if he has the same reaction in 2 weeks when we have to give another 1/2 tablet!

Jinley is always sick after a wormer (I use Milebax), so she has half on one day and half on the other which she seems okay with.
