Title: Miss Maisie May
Post by: Malvern Michael on December 18, 2015, 04:53:46 PM
Our beautiful chocolate unemployed working cocker Miss Maisie May, lost her fight with her liver shunt on the 2nd November.

We are still so so sad, she was only 5yr 6mths and didn't deserve to go so soon.

She gave us great joy and unconditional love right up to the end, these dogs are so special, I have never been so touched by any pet before.

I am terribly sorry. My OH and I knew exactly what you have gone through, especially the pain and bewilderment- and probable anger. It seems so unjust.

We lost our working cocker in August and although he just made it to 10 years he had massive health problems. It will be too soon for you and you'll feel very raw. We have since our loss tried to look into the health concerns affecting working cockers in particular and tried talking about them, gathering information, and sharing it. It's just something to do. We still hurt every day.

Thank you all so much for your kind words.

We feel that we maybe ready to look for another cocker as our home is just so empty without a cockers energy, so we will start looking for a puppy or young female show cocker after Christmas to bring some light back into our lives.

Merry Christmas to you ALL

So pleased for you that you feel ready to welcome a new fur baby into your life.  Sometimes it is the only thing that gets you over the loss.

Looking forward to hearing all about her in the new year.
