Did anyone see the lovely black cocker on Supervet
last night with a broken jaw? :o
so glad he was fixed

He was lovely. Makes you think carefully about leaving stuff lying about though doesn't it? All that damage from (probably) a garden sprinkler. One of my pupils had a similar incident recently when she let her dog Sammy out one night. The builders had left a sheet of corrugated iron propped up on the side of the house and Sammy ran straight in to it, impaling his chest. He came in with a gaping wound and blood everywhere. Luckily no serious, internal damage but over 20 stitches.

Yes, he was lovely. Did make us laugh when the lady herself was laughing about 'hopefully he'll be a bit more subdued now' - err don't think so :005:

These dogs are a constant worry. They are so enthusiastic, so adventurous, have no sense of risk, there are bound to be nasty accidents. Mine will jump a 4 ft river-bank.
One day I found he had climbed on a fallen tree and run along it until he was 20ft above ground. He could not turn round and come back.
I had to do the same unti I could grab his tail and drag him back. We were miles off the beaten track in a forest and I remember thinking that if I fell we could both perish.
Still I am reluctant to ground him by keeping on lead, but quite large open spaces are now too small.

Yes he was a beautiful spaniel , reminded me very much of my Ernie & great to see him all " fixed ".
Like Alan said cockers seem to have no sense of danger . There's a reason we refer to Ernie as the tornado , the loveable lunatic & usuain bolt :005: :005:.

Amazing work, wiring those teeth.
My boy has teeth that are like pointed pyramids.
Be really hard to wire them.
