Post by: Acorah on July 24, 2005, 01:49:11 PM: Any relations of Acorah's out there? His dad was Perfect Bubbly Boy, and his mum was Kenmilltri Ara. I have 5 generations I can go back if you want to see more?

Post by: Gilly on July 24, 2005, 04:25:21 PM: Sounds like working cocker to me ;) anything beginning with "ken" is usually the name given to the dog by the kennel club if the breeder doesn't have their own affix.

It sounds like Acorah is either a Working Cocker or a working/show-type mix depending on what else is in his pedigree.

I'm not familiar with any of the others - hopefully Kirsten or one of our other Working Cocker owners will be able to give more info on these :)

Post by: Ben's mum on July 24, 2005, 06:57:11 PM: :rolleyes: Hi as far as I know Kenmilltri is the kennel name of a local breeder in Belper, Derbyshire, our Ben's proper name is Kenmilltri Sunny. I know other people who have had pups from this breeder and they all have same pre fix.

So my Ben might be related??? Ben is not a working cocker, but I know the breeder does breed workers and show dogs. Usually her black or black and tans come from other local lines in Derbyshire
Got more info if you want, but I wasn't sure if it was ok to put breeders info on here without asking her??

There are quite a few other breeder affixes which start with "ken" at the front but are not connected in any way with the KC's own affix eg Kenan which is a Cocker show affix. The Kennel Club's own prefix changes every year and this year it's Kenmilquin ("ken" for KC, "mil" for 2000 & "quin" for five ie 2005)
