Meanwhile I found Henry yesterday chewing his way through OH's spare glasses. One lens popped out and chomped through! They'd been put in the middle of the kitchen table where Henry can't reach - or so we thought. I guess someone has grown again....
-
Wow that's a very bad case of woodworm !
-
Oh dear.....

Oh no.
Have you tried good old vaseline? It worked with Murphy.

Sorry, too many late nights for me. I meant Vics, not Vaseline

Oh dear! Humphrey has been a naughty boy.

It is, admittedly, a few nights work! :005:

Oil of cloves worked a treat. You can get it from chemists in a tiny bottle. One drop on the corners of anything and it stopped Bonnie from day 1. She never chewed anything but it didn't work on our hands or feet and yes in desperation I did rub it all over my hands to try to stop the dreaded cockerdile pup >:D Just be careful on natural wood as it is an oil so might make an oil stain (better than a chewed corner though :005:)

That also sounds good - probably smells a little more "homely" than Vic aswell! - thanks!

:lol2: Sorry- but it is called distressing and can add value to antique furniture...

I think "distressed" is a bit of an understatement, - it looks more like its had a nervous breakdown!, :rofl1: :rofl1:

Mine had a very brief secret chewing phase. A friend told me to put French mustard on corners. Don't do that. Humbug just licked it off as if it was a treat!! :005:
Good luck.

Shabby chic. He's clearly an artist. :005:
(Deep heat spray worked for Archie.....sprayed when he wasn't actually near it as it's pretty strong.)

That's what my Jessie has done to a dresse r made for my husbands parents in the 1920s . Jessie is a puppy farm girl who we have had 3 years and is frightened of every thing . Can't even get her out for a walk. So I can't be cross with her but will try oil of cloves.

Sounds a bit like me. It is an actual medical condition you know, (called skiveitus) don't blame your oh. I'm sure he really wants to do diy but can't due to a severe allergic reaction ;)

A little pepper worked into vaseline works well.....doesn't smell like the others but is unpalatable
-
Thanks! That sounds a good idea!
