A quick Poppy update. When she first came to us, I put a tennis ball down for her to look at. Her expression as she left the room said "Grenade, run" so I left if off the things to play with list. However yesterday she picked it up and carried it to her pile of stolen socks. This wicked side is developing very well. Yesterday afternoon I asked her to go into garden for obvious reasons and she bounced out. Bad timing on my part, there were a pair of blackbirds feeding a fledgling. Following usual blackbird behavior, Dad flapped at her to distract her. It worked, she thought it was the most fun she had ever had. He led her right away and she totally forgot she was a frightened dog. She came back and we went inside before the bird came back for another go. He was so brave. Slowly her nose and canine instinct are waking up it was great to watch her. I now have to accompany her every time because she has blackbird pie in mind!

;) OK- I think you need to book her a weekend at somewhere like Duck and Chicken World Theme Park (obviously don't tell them she's a spaniel till you get there). It will open her eyes to the possibilities.
Seriously it's lovely that she's coming round.
