Title: Worm and flea treatment??
Post by: Ninni on July 22, 2016, 06:32:50 PM
I have confused myself, how often do I need to give my 9 kilo 9 month old cocker flee treatment and worm treatment?

And what is the difference between Milpro and Drontal, do they treat different worms?

Our schedule is once a month for flea treatment (Advantage) and every three months for worm tablets. I take Henry (11months) to the vet to get weighed and buy his worm tablet as the dose depends on weight.

Minstrel and Branston have flea treatment once every two months (Advantage recommend every month but have been doing it every two months for a while with no adverse consequences. Worming every six months as recommended by my vet.

We found that Dexter could not tolerate Drontal as it give him a bad tummy for days, we use a vet one which is more gentle. Can't remember the name as OH is out at the moment.

I flea treat monthly and worm quarterly - for the latter I use Milbemax because our cockers couldn't tolerate Drontal either.  HTH  :D

Both of ours have Advocate applied every month with a Milbemax tablet every six months for tapeworm.
